Terms & refund policy

Last updated: 1 November 2026

These terms apply when you book, join or pay for a Shajara Pathways workshop or programme. If a student is under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms on the student’s behalf.

Who we are

Shajara Pathways is run by Taslima Sheikh.

You can contact us at connect@shajarapathways.com.

Booking and payment

  • Workshops can be booked and paid for online.
  • Mentorship is arranged after a free initial conversation. We confirm the package (for example 6 or 10 sessions) and the cost in writing before you pay.
  • Access Programme places are offered after an application and conversation. Places are either paid or funded.

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. For larger programmes, we may agree an instalment plan with you in writing. We do not set up automatic recurring subscriptions.

We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added to our prices.

Funded places

Funded (bursary) places depend on eligibility and on the funding available. We may ask for evidence of eligibility, and we may withdraw a funded place if the information provided turns out to be inaccurate.

Cancellations and refunds

Your 14-day right to cancel. If you book online or by email, you can cancel within 14 days of booking for a full refund. If you ask us to start sessions within those 14 days, we will deduct the cost of any sessions already delivered.

Workshops. If you cancel at least 48 hours before a workshop, you will receive a full refund. After that, we can usually move you to a later date instead.

Mentoring sessions. Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to reschedule a session. Sessions cancelled with less notice, or missed, may count as used. Sessions in a package should be used within the period we agree with you in writing when you book.

After the first 14 days, we do not usually refund sessions that have not been used, but please talk to us if your circumstances change.

If we cancel, we will offer you another date or a full refund for the affected session or workshop.

Changes to programmes

We may occasionally need to change the date, time, format or mentor for a session. If this happens, we will let you know as early as possible and offer an alternative. Residential opportunities depend on partners and logistics, and details are only confirmed when we share them with participants.

Conduct and safeguarding

We expect everyone taking part to treat others with respect. Everyone who works with students follows our safeguarding approach. We may remove a participant from a programme if their behaviour puts others at risk.

No guarantee of admission

We provide guidance, mentoring and support, but admissions decisions are made by universities. We cannot guarantee that any student will receive an offer from Oxford, Cambridge or any other university.

Liability

We take reasonable care and skill in providing our services. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, or for decisions made by universities, schools or other third parties. If we are responsible for a loss, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the programme concerned. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
